The town of Mitchell will mark its 150th anniversary with a week of community events, honouring its rich history and creating new memories.
“It’s like a wedding, whether it rains, shines or hurricanes, it’s gonna happen,” Doug said.
Feltz mentions the town’s history and how they’re celebrating every 25 years.
He talked about local clubs and organizations helping out, and how excited people are about the events, with some even planning to take time off work.
Feltz even said people have been reaching out via email about how they had ancestors in Mitchell from the 1800s and they are looking to connect with family.
Some events to look out for are the Fish Fry on August 2nd, the HIP Experience Concert on August 3rd, and the Perth County 4H Pancake Breakfast on August 4th.
“It’s been kind of interesting and you know our goal is to come home, touch base again, and just visit and have a good time,” Feltz concluded.
He encourages everyone to check out the event details online and thanks the “hardworking committee members.”
