The Stratford Economic Enterprise Development Corporation (SEED Co.) held its 10th annual general meeting (AGM) recently at the Stratford Festival.
Anita Gaffney, Executive Director of the Stratford Festival, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the strong connection between the city’s cultural and economic sectors.
SEED Co. President Kate Dekok announced the hiring of Kendra Fry as housing specialist to address Stratford’s housing needs.
The corporation also highlighted significant industrial growth, with over 285,900 square feet of new construction underway.
This includes an expansion by Aisin Canada, which will add 150 jobs.
Notably, since 2015, 75 per cent of business park land sales have gone to expanding existing businesses, with 25 per cent going to new companies choosing Stratford.
Stratford Perth Centre for Business, managed by investStratford, reported supporting the start or expansion of 79 small businesses, creating 184 jobs.
Additionally, the Centre invested over $90,000 in new businesses through its training programs.
The AGM celebrated a decade of achievements and highlighted ongoing efforts to boost Stratford’s economic growth and development.
