Cooling centres open in Stratford as heat wave continues

Looking to beat the heat?

The City of Stratford has opened a cooling center at the Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road West.

According to the city website, the center will be available until Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering air-conditioned space, on-site washrooms, and water.

Additionally, residents can visit the Stratford Public Library at 19 St. Andrew Street, or cool off at the Anne Hathaway Park splash pad near the corner of Downie and Bruce street, open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Perth County remains under a Heat Warning from Environment Canada with the humidex expected to be 42 on Tuesday.
