Cool events for Canada Day weekend at Wildwood Conservation Area

A good morning Canada hike is among several educational events happening at Wildwood Conservation Area over the Canada Day weekend.

Emily Chandler, of the Upper Thames Region Conservation Area, says the hike starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will include a walk through green trails, allowing guests a deeper look at the beauty of the conservation area.

Last year, participants saw a deer on the walk, so there is always an interest in spotting wildlife.

“This is a really family-friendly start to the weekend.”

A kids bingo is being held Saturday afternoon and there are Canada Day crafts on Sunday.

Seasonal campers can also take part in a site decoration contest.

Chandler said getting outdoors is what a long weekend is all about.

“It encourages people to…reconnect with nature, kids put down their phones or screens and have fun.”
