St. Marys seeking volunteers for triathlon event

They are coming to swim, cycle and run through St. Marys.

The Town of St. Marys is welcoming 60 triathletes as part of the Ontario Summer Games.

To make it a memorable and workable experience, the town needs the help of volunteers.

The triathlon competition is Aug. 2-3. Volunteers are needed from 7 a.m. until noon both days.

Roles include barrier guards to manage multiple road closures required for the triathlon.

Barrier guards will be required to stand for up to 45 minutes and be able to lift 44 pounds.

Event location volunteers are needed to set up and tear down and/or complete administrative tasks.

Volunteers must be at least 14-years-old and applicants under the age of 18 will require parental consent. All volunteers also require a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) from at least August 1, 2023.

Volunteer applications can be submitted through the Ontario Summer Games website: www.london2024.ca/en/volunteer. Questions can be directed to Jackie Corby at [email protected].
