Journey through the cosmos at Lights on Stratford

Details have been announced for the 5th annual Lights on Stratford.

The theme for this year’s winter festival, which transforms the city’s park system and downtown core, is REIMAGINE.

It will feature two main instillations at the start of the light trail at Market Square.

The first, entitled EMERGENCE, is a collaborative partnership of artists Harriet Lumby and Alan Hayes. It will be a Canadian debut for the exhibit.

With 75 mirror units, it offers awe-inspiring visual illusions, and distinct experiences, according to Destination Stratford, which organizes the winter festival.

It’s also the Canadian premier for Stargate.

Described as a projection structure, it features a 12 foot square encompassing a circular ring, to take  viewers on a journey through the cosmos, with projection mapping and mesmerizing visuals.

Lights on Stratford aims to celebrate and embrace winter in the Festival City and runs Thursdays to Sundays, from December 13 to January 19.
