Stratford City Council awarded a $1.7 million contract to GIP Paving Inc. for asphalt resurfacing on Devon Street, Greenwood Drive, and West Gore Street.

The tender, posted in May, received five bids. GIP Paving Inc. submitted the lowest bid at just over $1,5 million after the HST rebate, and their experience and references were positively reviewed.

The 2024 capital budget allocated $2.25 million for this project, funded by the Canada Community Building Fund, with no impact on the current budget and expected to reduce future maintenance costs.

This decision, which received approval after a vote at city council’s meeting this week, aligns with Stratford’s goals of improving infrastructure and sustainable city planning.
