Every September, communities across Ontario hold walks to fundraise for the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
This Saturday, The Kidney Foundation of Canada’s Waterloo Wellington and District Chapter will host its Stratford Kidney Walk.
Leigh-Anne Quinn from the local chapter says that the walk is a time to support those with kidney disease, celebrate a successful transplant, honour a lost loved one or connect with others going through a similar journey.
“And it’s really remarkable to see the kidney community get together and rally around each other, and support each other while raising funds to support The Kidney Foundation of Canada’s programs and research initiatives,” explained Quinn.
One in 10 Canadians are impacted by kidney disease. There are 29 walks taking place in the province.
The local walk starts at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9 a.m. at Upper Queens Park.
There is still time to sign up at kidneywalk.ca.
