Humane Society’s Swiftie 50/50 a fundraising game changer

The Swiftie 50/50 has exceeded all fundraising expectations.

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth’s Taylor Swift 50/50 Raffle has become a fundraising game changer for the organization.

As of publication Thursday afternoon, the winner would receive more than $307,000.

Cree Toner from the Humane Society says the draw has left everyone in awe.

“We never, ever in our wildest dreams thought that it would get this big,” said Toner.

During initial discussions about the draw, the target was around $40,000.

Two weeks ago, it approached $100,000, and the organization thought that was impressive.

The prize amount literally jumps by thousands of dollars each hour.

You can buy tickets up until Thursday night at 11:59 p.m. and the lucky winner will be drawn Friday at noon.

The cherry on top of a life-changing monetary win is two tickets to see Swift in Toronto on Nov.15.

“That is a huge amount of money to win while also knowing that a huge amount of money is coming to the shelter too. It’s really just wins all around for everybody!” said Toner.

The organization is overwhelmed by community support in Stratford and Kitchener/Waterloo.

“So it’s been amazing to feel such a sense of support from so many different people and avenues in our communities,” said Toner.
