A new organization in Stratford is bringing a “world-class” film festival to the city, celebrating excellence in film while fostering meaningful community connections year-round.
Leading up to a four-day inaugural film festival in November 2025, Stratford Film Festival is hosting monthly screenings, introducing the community to the organization.
The first is on Nov. 16, featuring three free community screenings called “Best of Fest Shorts”.
Ninety-minute screenings are at Stratford City Hall Auditorium at 1, 4 and 7 p.m.
The creative force behind the festival are new Stratford residents Megan Smith-Harris and Bill Harris, an award-winning television and film production duo with decades of experience.
Smith-Harris, the executive director, says the stories are from all over.
“The Stratford Film Festival is an opportunity to showcase great stories from across the world and around the corner,” explained Smith-Harris.
Smith-Harris said she has been “blown away” by the community involvement and hopes residents check out the Nov. 16 screenings and upcoming events.
“We want you to know that every time you come to one of our events, you’re going to see a great film, there’s going to be a terrific discussion and it’s going to be engaging and thought provoking and hopefully fun,” expressed Smith-Harris.
