Get ready to dive into the festive season this weekend in St. Marys.
Beginning Friday, enjoy the Kinsmen Santa Claus parade that starts at 7 p.m. It departs from the Pyramid Recreation Centre and will follow its familiar route up James Street, West on Queen Street, through downtown, then South on Water Street.
Also starting on Friday is the WinterLights display at Milt Dunnell Field. You can experience the lights for the entire holiday season as they will be lit every evening from 5 – 11 p.m., until Jan. 1.
Then on Saturday, the St. Marys Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at the recreation centre. There will be more than 100 tables selling unique items and gifts to meet all your holiday shopping needs.
Morgan Easton, Events Coordinator for the Town of St. Marys explains why the town is the best spot for the holiday season.
“So with St. Marys, its such a small town that its great for the community to come together, especially over the holiday season and just get to see the magic in St. Marys come to life,” said Easton.
From November 23 – 24, Downtown St. Marys will be hosting its Merchants’ Open House, where participating downtown business will offer promotions and festive giveaways. It will also feature horse and wagon rides and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
