Winter hit Perth County with force Friday, and slippery roads played a part in a single motor vehicle collision and a subsequent road closure.
Shortly before 7 a.m. today, Stratford Police responded to a collision in Perth South, on Perth Road 130 at Line 26.
The transport truck was westbound when it slid from the roadway and struck a hydro pole and transformer.
Upon arrival of emergency services, the driver was found to be stuck on top of the cab, which was lying on its side in the ditch along the roadway.
Due to concerns regarding the live hydro lines, the roadway was closed and Hydro One contacted.
The road will be closed until the early afternoon.
With the first snowfall of the season, Stratford Police encourage all drivers to slow down and create extra space while travelling on roadways this winter.
