Tis the season to give and the town of St. Marys plans on doing just that.
Numerous events and initiatives happening throughout the town tomorrow will benefit those in need for the annual St. Marys Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3).
Julie Docker-Johnson from the St.Marys Giving Tuesday committee explains that the town’s generosity is unparalleled.
“St. Marys is incredibly giving on any day of the week, or year, on Giving Tuesday, however, they go full on,” explained Docker-Johnson.
And with 121 partners participating in Giving Tuesday, it’s sure to make a difference in the community.
“Giving Tuesday is not about the money. It’s about time, it’s about effort, it’s about expertise,” explained Docker-Johnson.
AllRoads Dodge Chrysler and Jeep are collecting gifts for teens and tweens to be donated to the Salvation Army.
St. Marys Friendship Centre Choir will be singing at local nursing homes.
Troyer’s Spices is collecting new teddy bears for the St. Marys Memorial Hospital.
Peak Select Realty is collecting school lunch items for the St. Marys Library Pantry.
Pet Valu St. Marys is collecting pet food donations for the local humane society.
The St. Marys Giving Tuesday committee will be at Scotiabank corner from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with a Salvation Army kettle.
