After inaugural screenings in November, the Stratford Film Festival is back at it again.
Cool Shorts for the Holidays screenings will take place on Dec. 20 and Dec. 22 at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Megan Smith-Harris, Stratford Film Festival executive director, encouraged attending the screenings.
“So if people are planning down in Market Square to see the Lights on Stratford display, why not come see some great short films from around the world? We’ve got comedy, drama, animation as well as two fabulous short films shot right here in Stratford,” said Smith-Harris.Â
One of those films, The Understudy, will have two audience Q&As with the film’s director, producer and two actors at the Dec. 20 screenings, following the 6 p.m. screening and beginning the 8 p.m. screening.
Suggested donation for the short film screenings is $5 for adults and $2.50 for kids.
Cool Shorts for the Holidays will also be held on Dec. 21 but only at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., as there will be a community outreach benefit movie screening at 8 p.m of the holiday classic, It’s A Wonderful Life.
“People may have seen this film before, but they’ve probably never seen it on the big screen, or in colour,” said Smith-Harris.
Funds raised will be split between The Emily Murphy Centre, Shelterlink Youth Services, and Stratford House of Blessing foodbank.
Donations of personal care items, non-perishable goods, children’s books, school supplies, and gift cards are also appreciated.
Reservations for all screenings can be made at the Stratford Film Festival website.
