The Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (WOWC) has elected a new chair.
Mayor Amy Martin, of Norfolk County, will chair the caucus for a one-year term.
Martin said in a media release the region faces critical challenges and opportunities that require a unified approach.
By prioritizing housing, infrastructure, workforce development, and addressing mental health, addictions, and homelessness, the caucus continues to advocate for solutions that drive progress and improve quality of life for residents across southwestern Ontario.
Perth County Warden Doug Kellum is a member of the caucus board of directors.
The caucus represents 15 upper and single-tier municipalities in southwestern Ontario, representing more than 1.6 million residents.
WOWC recently held their AGM, where they appointed additional officers.
Oxford County Warden Marcus Ryan will serve as Chair of the Western Ontario Municipal Conference for 2025.
The caucus has approved a strategic plan committed to advancing key priorities for the region.
Martin said collaboration will be at the heart of their efforts in 2025.
