HPPH advises of measles exposures in Stratford, Wingham and Listowel

The fourth community exposure of measles has been announced in Listowel, with more exposures in the region.

In the latest update, Huron Perth Public Health is advising the public there are several measles exposures at local hospitals from this past weekend.

The first occurred at Listowel Memorial Hospital’s emergency department on Friday (March 28) between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The second was at the Stratford General Hospital’s ER waiting room on Friday (March 28) from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The last was at the Wingham and District Hospital’s emergency room on Friday (March 28) from 9:30 p.m. to Saturday (March 29) at 1:15 a.m. and then on Sunday (March 30) from 1:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.

You are asked to contact public health at if you or your family member were present at these locations during this timeframe and were born in 1970 or after and have not received two doses of measles-containing vaccines or are at high risk of severe measles illness.
