The Stratford Festival’s upcoming season is fast approaching and the buzz around the highly anticipated performances has started.
Publicity Director at the Stratford Festival, Ann Swerdfager, explained that some of the season’s biggest shows are almost ready for the public.Â
Swerdfager said that the musical Annie had a run on stage this week and that she got a sneak peek and was blown away by the young actor playing the lead.
“Gosh, what a talent that little girl Harper Rae Asch is. She is a wonderful Annie. We are all in for a treat when the show finally comes together.”
Swerdfager expressed that Asch has a “beautiful and powerful voice” and is getting along great with the canine actors playing Sandy.Â
Dress rehearsals for the other upcoming shows, like Anne of Green Gables and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels are also happening in the near future as preview shows start on April 19.
Swerdfager also explained the importance of getting tickets for those preview shows.Â
“It’s really important for the actors on the stage, for the general community, to fill up those early previews so people start talking about what’s happening here in Stratford.”
