On Monday (April 7), Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae was appointed Chief Government Whip of Ontario.
The role of the Chief Government Whip is the person responsible for ensuring that members of the governing party attend and vote in provincial legislature.
Rae will also continue in his role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
He thanked Doug Ford for the trust the Premier has placed in him and added that the conservative government “was re-elected with a strong mandate to protect Ontario and continue to build a stronger and more prosperous province.”
The 34-year-old is the second youngest MPP to serve in this capacity.
