Two people in an SUV were removed through a carved out sunroof when a vehicle ended up on its side after a collision on Erie Street near Ontario Street over the Easter long weekend.
Stratford firefighters found the SUV tipped up on its driver’s side after colliding with a minivan on Saturday (April 19) shortly before 1 p.m.
Eight male bystanders supported the SUV in its position as it was very unsteady, Stratford Fire Chief Neil Anderson told MyStratfordNow.Â
Firefighters stabilized the SUV, removed the sunroof and windshield and a firefighter entered the vehicle to perform an injury assessment.
Both people were taken out of the SUV through the sunroof.
Anderson said the FD kept a truck on scene until a towing company removed the vehicles and a final clean up of glass, debris, and spilled vehicle fluids was complete.Â
