HPPH warns of measles exposures at Stratford hospital, Listowel restaurant

Huron Perth Public Health announced today three new measles exposures that happened in the region recently, one at a Listowel restaurant and two in separate departments at the Stratford hospital.

The exposure in Listowel occurred at Vecky’s International Cuisine on April 19 from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A couple exposures happened at Stratford General Hospital last week.

First, in the emergency department on April 22 from 3:50 p.m. to April 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Second, in the ultrasound department on April 23 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Anyone at these locations during these time frames needs to monitor for measles signs and symptoms for 21 days after exposure.

Call public health if you/your family member were present at these locations during these timeframes and were born in or after 1970 and have not received two doses of measles vaccines or are at high risk of severe measles illness.
