Candidate profile: Christian Heritage Party’s Irma DeVries

Irma DeVries is one of the candidates in Perth-Wellington in the upcoming federal election.

She represents the Christian Heritage Party.

DeVries says she’s motivated to run because she wants to spread awareness about what she believes is an important social issue:

DeVries believes though that the biggest issues are the economy and the national debt. She says paying down the debt would free up money to spend elsewhere:

DeVries says that if elected, a CHP government would also invest heavily in infrastructure:

DeVries, much like all the candidates in Perth-Wellington, supports the supply management system for dairy and poultry producers:

One other issue DeVries wanted to discuss was the Syrian refugee crisis. She says the CHP is compassionate, but security must be considered:

Irma DeVries is running against Independent Roger Fuhr,  Liberal Stephen McCotter, Conservative John Nater, the NDP’s Ethan Rabidoux, and the Green Party’s Nicole Ramsdale.

Election Day is set for October 19th.
