There’s going to be a women’s issues debate in Stratford tonight. Five of Perth-Wellington’s six candidates in the federal election will be there.
The only holdout is Conservative John Nater. Nater says his absence is a matter of logistics:

Nater’s opponents have taken exception to his absence at the debate.
Independent Roger Fuhr says missing women’s issues debates is a concerning, recurring theme with the Conservatives.
Christian Heritage Party candidate Irma DeVries and Liberal Stephen McCotter believe the party has instructed its candidates not to attend debates like this.
The NDP’s Ethan Rabidoux says it’s unfortunate because debates are better when everyone shows up.
The Green Party’s Nicole Ramsdale has yet to return a phone call asking for comment.
The women’s issues debate, which is being put on by Up For Debate, gets underway at 7:30pm in the City Hall auditorium.
