A Tavistock farmer has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to animal cruelty resulting in the death of over one-thousand pigs.
Twenty-eight-year-old Benjamin Stein must pay $10-thousand dollars to the Ontario SPCA and wont be allowed to own, care for, or be in control of any animals in the business of husbandry for the rest of his life, among other penalties.
He was sentenced Thursday in a Norfolk County courtroom.
Stein pleaded guilty to four counts of animal cruelty back in January following the deaths of over one-thousand pigs that were in his care in Langton in 2017.
