Oxford County is calling on the Ontario PC Party to look at other options when it comes to the future of high speed rail in the area.
Warden David Mayberry and Chief Administrative Officer Peter Crockett have submitted a briefing note through Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman and Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece which
includes several requests including that the PC’s adopt the position that a full and comparative assessment to high speed rail be taken through the environmental assessment.
They also ask that PC candidates ask other party candidates during the lead up to the Ontario election why they would not support a full and comparative assessment of alternatives.
A high speed rail line connecting Toronto to London is expected to be built by 2025.
