Vaccine clinics taking place in October for high-risk individuals

Four upcoming vaccine clinics in the Stratford area this month are aimed at high-risk individuals.

Huron Perth Public Health officials say the clinics are taking place in Stratford on October 17th and 26th and in Clinton on October 19th and 24th.

The COVID vaccine being offered is the one recently approved for protection against the XBB variant and people aged 6 months and over can receive a flu shot at the same time as a COVID-19 vaccine.

HPPH Physician Consultant Dr. Lauren Hayward explains some of the groups that are eligible for the shots.

“Residents and staff of congregate living settings, people who are pregnant, people who are over the age of 65, all children who are age 6 months to four years of age and this is specifically for the influenza vaccine.”

Appointments must be booked for the clinics, and you can go to the HPPH website to learn more.
