The usual suspects will be closed for Victoria Day weekend.
Shoppers and merchants will note that most stores must close on Victoria Day in compliance with the Retail Business Holidays Act, with exceptions for certain businesses such as gas stations, gardening centres, and flower shops.
Some outdoor locations are opening up this weekend, including Stratford’s splash pad at Anne Hathaway Park. The splash pad is located near the corner of Downie and Bruce St. It is open daily from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Light up the Night kayaking gets going on Saturday with Tom Patterson Island as the starting point at 9 p.m.
Emily Chandler, with Upper Thames River Conservation Authority told MyStratfordNow, that Wildwood Conservation Area are expecting a “very busy weekend and only have minimal non-hydro sites left.”
Chandler noted that “plenty of people” will be out on the water.
For you anglers, some fish to look out for right now include Northern Pike, rock bass, yellow perch, and a few others.
