St. Marys and Listowel continued their Pride Month celebrations.

St. Marys Pride Day was held on Sunday. Activities included a walk, story time, a drag show, music, and community gatherings.

The event aimed to celebrate Pride Month and promote inclusivity.

St. Marys Mayor Al Strathdee emphasized creating a welcoming community and eliminating prejudice.

“It’s okay to be you and we’re here to support everyone,” he said. “We want to include everyone and everything, and that we’re open-minded and that love is love.”

Mayor Todd Kasenberg of Listowel spoke to My Stratford Now about Family Pride Day, on Saturday at Kin station.

The day was filled with family-fun events, as well as a Drag Show a day prior, at Kinsmen Club Of Listowel.

Kasenberg noted the event would “bring together a diversity of folks, from those who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ to their allies and friends, with a spirit of recognition and fun all part of the day.”

Kasenberg planned to participate at some point during the weekend.
