Stratford Police Service and the Ministry of Transportation conducted a commercial motor vehicle blitz Thursday in St. Marys.
The goal was to ensure that commercial vehicles and their drivers comply with safety standards and Highway Traffic Act regulations.
Thirty-nine commercial vehicles were inspected. As a result, 11 vehicles were taken out of service, and 19 charges were issued.
Charges include improper brakes, overweight loads, seatbelt violations, no insurance, no driver’s license, no registration, improper vehicle maintenance, no annual inspection, and improper mufflers.
