The Tavistock Assistance Program (TAP) has found a delicious way to support the community: food trucks.
This summer, the parking lot at Grace United Church in Tavistock transforms on some days into a food lover’s paradise, in support of TAP’s charitable efforts.
The idea and planning originated with Mary Boland, an active member of Grace United Church.
Program Director Angie Brenner tells MyStratfordNow, they quickly organized food trucks in Tavistock every Monday this summer.
The first event raised more than $700, surpassing expectations.
The food trucks are bringing diverse food options to Tavistock while raising funds for local charities.
“Our community is very supportive,” Brenner said.
The next food truck event is July 22, 4:30-8 p.m., at Grace United Church.
Offerings include Fo Cheezy, Beavertails, and SWAT.
