Bringing vibrancy and creativity to the heart of Stratford, the new Festival of Music and Art (FOMA) promises to unite the community by celebrating art and music.
Founder Gabriella Fortune, a Guyanese artist, tells MyStratfordNow that FOMA aims to provide a platform for seasoned and emerging artists.
“We wanted to be super inclusive, especially for people that feel as though that they don’t have a space to showcase their talents and/or feel as though there isn’t a place for them, so we wanted to be very welcoming,” said Fortune.
She added that they want to foster the growth and creation of people and their creative process.
The festival features art exhibitions, live performances, and vendor markets, with activities such as kid zones and more offered on a pay-what-you-can basis.
Karim Rushdy, Co-founder says that proceeds go to nonprofit organizations, like the Nancy Campbell Scholarship Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for kids worldwide.
The event will happen on July 20 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at 45 Waterloo Street South.
