Golf courses reopen after rainstorm in Stratford

There is good news for golfers after heavy rainstorms this week.

Kyle Brodhagen, GM of the Municipal Golf Course, said they had 4 inches of rain, causing pooling and temporary closure. However, the course is now open for golf.

The driving range will remain closed for now and will continue to be reassessed as the day progresses.

Rob Douglas, Director at Stratford Country Club tells MyStratfordNow they are currently open for nine holes with no power carts.

“We anticipate returning to full operations by Saturday, July 13th,” says Douglas.

He says that the 90-plus millimeters of rain did damper the gorgeous weather we’re having right now.

Despite initial pooling, overnight improvements have been noted. The course management remains vigilant, ensuring the grounds are ready for full use soon.

Community updates regarding the Stratford Country Club will be updated through their social media pages.
