Calling all baseball enthusiasts, the St. Marys Museum’s popular seminar series returns for its 12th season Thursday, starting off with a presentation on the history of baseball hosted by Andrew North.
North, a St. Marys resident, is a Director of the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research and long-time volunteer at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
The lecture will look at the town’s connection to the early form of baseball played near Beachville in 1838.
There will be two more seminars held this fall.
On Oct. 17, Jim Goetz will be teaching all about astronomy, and on Nov. 21 the story of the influential entrepreneur J.D Moore will be explored.
The seminars serve as fundraisers for the St. Marys Museum.
The cost is $12 or $10 for Museum members.
Space is limited so be sure to pre-register by contacting the museum by phone or email.
