One local cancer survivor’s mission to give RMHC patients a happy holiday

It’s the season of giving and one Stratford resident hopes to spread Christmas cheer to those in need this holiday season.

Sky Dupe, a 23-year-old cancer survivor, is hosting a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Southwestern Ontario, located in London.

Dupe was inspired to do the fundraiser this year, as her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House after her leukemia diagnosis of at the age of five.

Dupe is now cancer free and has been in remission for 15 years.

“So I thought, let’s do something for Christmas to help out everyone,” said Dupe.

She is collecting gift cards, food donations, cash, and presents for the kids.

They are also looking for donations of individually packaged snacks, travel sized hygiene products, activity books, household items, cleaning supplies, reusable water bottles/coffee mugs and many other much-needed items.

To sweeten the deal of giving towards Dupe’s fundraiser, each person who donates is entered for a chance to win a free clean from her cleaning service.

Dupe is collecting the items at her house in Stratford and she can also pick-up donations in the area. Dupe is dropping everything off at Ronald McDonald House on Dec. 20.

“I’m doing it for London because … they have a piece of my heart,” expressed Dupe.

To donate, give Dupe a call or text at 519 272 5173.
