Stratford/Woodstock police seize $35K worth of fentanyl

Stratford police have wrapped up an undercover investigation into fentanyl trafficking with  the seizure of $35,000 worth of the opioid.

With assistance from Woodstock police, Stratford police arrested two males on Nov. 28.

Both were arrested in Woodstock and taken to Stratford police headquarters.

A 20-year-old from Stoney Creek is charged with three counts of trafficking a scheduled one substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and resisting arrest.

That person remains in custody.

A Hamilton resident, age 24, is charged with trafficking a schedule one substance and was released from custody.

Police seized 189 grams of fentanyl.

Police said the collaborative effort highlights their commitment to fighting the opioid crisis.
