The GOJHL playoff quarterfinals are underway, with St. Marys Lincolns winning a pair of one-goal games and Stratford Warriors winning their opener.
The Lincolns edged KW Siskins 3-2 behind Ryan Hodkinson’s third period winner on Sunday afternoon in Kitchener. Jaden Lee and Lincoln Moore also scored for the Lincolns.
Evan Klein and Boston Bourque scored for the Siskins.
Kyle Morey spared the blushes for the regular season champion Lincolns when he scored the overtime winner during Friday night’s 4-3 home win, his second of the game.
Owen Voortman had two first period goals for the Lincolns.
Liam King, Drake Neal and Jake Mallory replied for the Siskins, who edged into the playoffs in eighth spot in the western division.
Also Friday, Stratford Warriors edged LaSalle Vipers 2-1
Kaedyn Long of the Warriors cancelled out Max Brocklehurst’s goal and Aiden Wilson scored the winner in the third period for the hosts.
On Sunday, London Nationals picked up a big 6-4 road win in their playoff opener against the Listowel Cyclones.
Eddie Hickson opened the scoring shorthanded, and the Nationals jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead. Anthony Tudino, Austen Pomerleau, Jaxon Priddle, David Brown and Ayden Doyle, also scored for the Nationals.
Jordan Visneskie had two goals for the Cyclones. Colton Henderson and Chris O’Flaherty added singles for the hosts.
The Lincolns host Game 3 of their series Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
