The best figure skaters in the province are coming to the Festival City.
Stratford Skating Club are welcoming more than 900 competitors to the 2025 Skate Ontario Provincial Figure Skating Championships.
Club executive Kevin Winter said there is a lot of excitement in the air.
“We are looking forward to it. This is the second time we are hosting this. We did it a couple of years ago. It went over really well. Skate Ontario was interested to have it back…and here we are,” Winter told MyStratfordNow.
From Friday morning until Sunday afternoon at the Rotary Complex, skaters will compete in men’s and women’s events.
“Single skaters, pair skaters, ice dance, artistic and then the two synchro events. So we are looking at crowing 49 provincial champions and two synchro champions.”
Among the local competitors is Mason Clemmer (pictured). It will be the second provincial championship for the Stratford Skating Club member.
Everyone is welcome to attend, with admission set at $10 for adults, and $5 for students ages four to 18 and seniors.
