Does Stratford have what it takes to be one of the top 20 travel destinations in Canada?
The Current’s listeners certainly think so.
The radio series from CBCÂ set out to build a bucket list with the top Canadian travel spots from listener suggestions.
And after more than 2,000 entries from coast-to-coast, the shortlist of only 20 destinations included the city.
The list highlights places like Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia to Tofino in British Columbia, Lake Laberge in the Yukon and everywhere in between.
Executive Director for Destination Stratford, Zac Gribble, says although he may be biased, he believes Stratford’s spot in the top 20 is well-deserved.
“There’s only two locations in Ontario that were selected, so for Stratford to be one of them is a real honour for us.”
Gribble is proud of what the community offers, and says the city gives both residents and visitors a rich, sophisticated experience.
“This is just fantastic to have Stratford showcased in this national way,” expressed Gribble.
The Current is now narrowing it down to a top 10, based solely on online voting.
You can vote once per day up until April 30.
