After identifying five intersections in the county with the highest rates of motor vehicle collisions, Perth OPP took to the streets to reduce collisions and improve public safety.
The Look Twice, Save a Life initiative was launched after police discovered the intersections had 33 collisions over a two-year period.
It was aimed at educating the public and taking enforcement action at the following stop sign controlled intersections: Main St E and Davidson Av N, Listowel; Perth Line 72 and Rd 131, Perth East; Line 39 and Rd 135, Perth East; Perth Line 20 and Rd 164, West Perth; Cobble Hills Rd and HW 7, Perth South.
OPP dedicated more than 30 hours to the initiative, and drivers were educated and provided literature on stop sign safety.
As a result of enforcement, 21 provincial offence notices were issued to drivers for intersection-related offences.
