City of Stratford hosts its first household hazardous waste collection of the year Saturday.
It takes place at the landfill site at 777 Romeo Street South.
Trained professionals will be there to safely receive items such as paints, varnish, fuels, antifreeze, motor oil, batteries, bleach, fluorescent lights, propane tanks and more.
You can drop off items from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vehicles waiting to drop off hazardous waste materials will enter the landfill site and then immediately turn right on the gravel road that runs around the perimeter of the landfill site.
There will be signs will be in place to direct traffic.
The city notes that the landfill opens at 8 a.m. on Saturday for regular waste drop-off, but hazardous waste will not be accepted until 9 a.m.
