A Milverton man is banned from owning animals for five years. The man pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges in April.
The Stratford Perth Humane Society was tipped off about an injured three-month-old chocolate lab puppy in December.
The humane society says the puppy had injuries to its lungs, spleen and diaphragm from the man trying to discipline it.
The man has been fined 730-dollars and his home is subject to OSPCA inspection after his ban ends.
